Most of you may not have heard of Reuben Buchanan, he is the ex cable manager at CWC, the cable out in the Philippines. He has a part in the cable wakeboard film Statement 1.5 and if you have ever seen him ride you can see he has a lot of tricks under his belt and in one lap of the cable he can probably throw more tricks than anyone because it seems he can throw any of his tricks anywhere, and not just out of the corners like most riders! Here’s a cool video of some of his riding and generally mucking around recently out at CWC:

Just thought we would let you know why all of the old stock has been taken off the site, we are moving it to the new warehouse where the 2010 stuff is so its all packed up at the minute ready to be moved so we can’t send any of it out but as soon as we get it there and sort it all out it will be back on the site at a great price!

So Nicky D has gone and got a website set up for himself, it has a blog section, things about him, his results from various competitions and whats he up to and where he’s headed around the world. A fun thing on his site though is the ‘Tricks for Nick’ section where you can post what tricks you want him to try and he will go out and try them and get them on film, if there not completely ridiculous that is, but he will probably try a few of the ridiculous tricks too!

So the first ever Wakestock Abu Dhabi is over and it was a great hit! With hot weather, a backdrop of massive sky scrapers, a huge domed mosque and the worlds biggest flagpole and 20 of the best wakeboarders in the world heading over to the United Arab Emirates for the contest it was no surprise that it was a great success. The weather wasn’t great for the last few days beacuse it was quite windy but the contest veterans Rusty Malinoski, Philip Soven, Aaron Rathy and Harley Clifford acted like there were perfect conditions throwing some crazy technical tricks like mobe 5′s, backlip transfers and 900′s and because of this made it into the 4 man final. In the end it was Harley Clifford who took the title of the first ever Wakestock Abu Dhabi champion and for his efforts won a massive $10,000 cheque.

A lot of riders use trampolines to practise their wakeboard tricks and it can really help to perfect some of your moves, here is a video of one of the experts, Nick Davies doing some trampoline training and also hitting a few rails in Orlando in Florida:

So all the guys in Orlando are complaining its really cold and bla bla bla, maybe they should come over here and see what cold is! Aaaanyway so because there arn’t any comps on a lot of the guys are doing a lot of free riding and trying new things including Kevin Henshaw, Parks Bonifay and Danny Harf who decided to go and try some things on the System 2.0 at the Projects.
