So Nick Davies has been out in the US the past couple of weeks getting away from the cold here, and has been hitting up some of the local Florida spots like OWC in Orlando and Mccormick’s Cable in Tampa (yes that odd one that goes round clockwise!). If you have seen Nick ride then you know how good he is, but one thing about Nick is he always looks like he is having loads of fun, which is what wakeboarding should be about and probably why most of us do it.

In America to say that Nascar is a huge deal is a big understatement and the Daytona 500 is one of, if not the biggest event of the Nascar season. In the middle of the circuit is a lake where this year they decided to put on some wakeboarding while the race was on, which for the sport of wakeboarding is a big deal because millions of people will watch the race and would have seen the riding. Now that wakeboarding has been used in such a big event as the Daytona 500 who knows where it will pop up next!

Now JD Webb has pretty much seen it and done everything in wakeboarding, he has been pushing himself ever since the wakeboard film ’Free4All’ back in the day where you can see him as a little grom ripping it up all the way up to today. He has just start riding quite a bit of cable and also has been hanging out at the projects using their System 2.0 and here is a little video of him talking about the system and where he thinks it will take the sport:

So last weekend some of the Wakestock organisers went out to Abu Dhabi to check out the location and get on with organising the event. To test the lake out properly they took a few pro’s out with them including Aaron Rathy, Amber Wing and are very own British pro’s Dan Nott and Nick Davies, it look likes it will make quite the event from the location, i mean its not every Wakestock that one of the backdrops of the riding is the worlds biggest Mosque! You will also see in this video that Mr Wakeboard, Matt Crowhurst made the trip out to make sure everything was up to proper Wakestock standards!

Here is a video from the Shred Town boys (www.ShredTown.com) and a few others including Shane Bonifay, Eric Ruck and Jimmy Lariche. They have been winching all over the place, and I think we all know no matter what your level of riding is or how good you are you always try and push yourself and because of this sometimes bad things happen and as the beginning of this vid shows wakeboarding isn’t all fun and games!

So we have had a pretty cold and miserable winter like we always do, but some of us do get to go away and get some sun. Some of the guys who ride at Princes Cable spent some time over in the US at Ski Rixen and here is a little vid of one of them, Gary Stalefox who also was last years King Of Cable here in the UK:

So i know this vid is a little old but in case some of you haven’t seen it already here is a little vid by Norbi Vasko. Its of 15 year old Ozzie ripper Harley Clifford who has a crazy amount of tricks and nearly all of them consistently, he also took the wakeboarding world by storm in 2009 by winning both the Australian and U.S. Pro Tour series.
